Process servers deliver legal documents to defendants, witnesses, or other parties involved in court cases.  

In Georgia, process servers must be appointed into each case by a judge; however, some counties do appoint permanent process servers to serve for their courts.

The fees below are for Process Service in Newton County, Rockdale County, Walton County, and Jasper County.  A $35.00 out of service area fee will be applied to areas outside of the listed counties.  

Services and Fees

  • Process Sevice to one person at one address (3 attempts) - $65.00

  • Defendant or Witness location search - $25.00 per database report

  • ​Additional person to be served at the same address  - $25.00 per person​

  • Travel to and from the courthouse for document filing or document pick-up - $25.00 per trip

  • Rush jobs requiring the first service attempt within 24-hours of being appointed - $25.00

*Additional fees apply in cases where surveillance is required to effect service of process.  

Please note:

All fees are due once the process server has been appointed into the case.  An invoice will be emailed to the provided address for online payment.  No refunds will be issued once the process server has been appointed into the case.


Most documents can be mailed or emailed to avoid additional travel costs.


Please check with the court in which your case is filed for instructions on how to file a Motion to Appoint a Special Process Server.

Any of the following information about the person to be served can be beneficial to ensure efficient and successful service or process:

  1. Physical Description of the person(s) to be served (age, height, weight, hair color, race, scars, tattoos, marks, piercings, facial hair, or any other identifying information)​​, and a recent photo

  2. Known vehicles associated with the defendant/witness (make, model, year, color, tag number)

  3. Others residing with the defendant/witness
